What is Maker Faire?
Maker Faire is a gathering of fascinating, curious people who enjoy learning and who love sharing what they can do. From engineers to artists to scientists to crafters, Maker Faire is a venue for these "makers" to show hobbies, experiments, projects.
We call it the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth - a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity, and resourcefulness.
Glimpse the future and get inspired!
About Our Maker Faire
ABOUT MAKER FAIRE HAPPY VALLEY
Come curious. Make a weekend of it. Maker Faire Happy Valley is a free celebration of creativity, invention, experimentation, and hands-on learning, bringing together makers and curious minds from across our region and beyond.
From artists and crafters to engineers, scientists, tinkerers, entrepreneurs, and DIY enthusiasts, Maker Faire is a place to show what you’ve made, share how you made it, and inspire others to make something of their own.
Join us for a family-friendly weekend filled with incredible creations, hands-on experiences, live demonstrations, community projects, and plenty of opportunities to learn, experiment, and connect.
Explore everything from robotics and digital fabrication to woodworking, electronics, upcycling, art, sustainability, and unexpected creations. Whether you’re a lifelong maker, an experienced creator, or simply someone who likes to see how things work, there’s something here for you.
You don’t have to consider yourself a “maker” to come to Maker Faire—you just have to be curious.
Now in its second year, Maker Faire Happy Valley is expanding across Axemann Brewery and Titan Hollow in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania, creating even more room for makers, projects, demonstrations, and hands-on experiences.

ABOUT DISCOVERY SPACE & THE RIVET
Maker Faire Happy Valley is presented by Discovery Space and The Rivet, two local organizations working together to make science, technology, creativity, and making more accessible to our community.
Discovery Space is a hands-on science center in State College, PA, where interactive exhibits and engaging programs invite children and families to explore, experiment, and discover. As a STEAM-focused nonprofit, Discovery Space strives to make learning fun, accessible, and relevant for people of all ages.
The Rivet is Discovery Space’s makerspace and lifelong-learning hub, providing tools, equipment, classes, and a collaborative environment for people to turn ideas into reality. From woodworking and metalworking to 3D printing, electronics, digital fabrication, and more, The Rivet helps people build skills and make things together.
Together, Discovery Space and The Rivet are building a community where curiosity leads to creativity, creativity leads to making, and making leads to new possibilities.
ABOUT MAKER FAIRE
Maker Faire began in 2006 in the San Francisco Bay Area as a project of the editors of Make: magazine. It has grown into a worldwide network of independently produced and flagship Maker Faires celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of makers everywhere.
Maker Faire events are often described as the “Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth”—and for good reason. They’re part science fair, part festival, part exhibition, and part community gathering, with makers sharing projects and skills in an environment designed to encourage curiosity and participation.
