A visit to Pinball Joe's Workshop
"Kids of all ages" are invited to join "Pinball Joe" in his workshop in the rear of Axemann Brewery. Other local pinball wizards will also be on hand who assist Joe in keeping the 12 pinball machines at Axemann running. During your visit to Pinball Joe's workshop space, enjoy free play on a machine and hands-on advice on improving your playing skills. Take a rare peek inside the "guts and brains" of a machine and learn the basics of pinball repair. Pinball Joe and others will answer your questions, including on local tournaments and leagues, different eras of machines, how much pinball machines cost, and how to keep the ball from going "straight down the middle!" Argh! The first 500 visitors will receive a free pinball to take home with them. Those under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Joe Schall
"Pinball Joe" has enjoyed the allure of the silver ball for 25 years, first as a casual player, then as a tournament champion, then as a technician, and now as operator of an eclectic collection of a dozen machines at Axemann Brewery. He serves as a local pinball ambassador and runs tournaments at Axemann, bringing together "kids of all ages" to enjoy both casual and competitive play. He especially enjoys helping older players learn to use their flipper fingers again and relive their childhood memories as well as introducing youth to the fun of a kinetic game that is "never the same twice."
